Restaurant Culture Editorial Illustration
The New York Times recently released an article about how restaurants nowadays focus more on branding and decor than the actual food. As someone obsessed with all things food, and having gone to many eateries and experienced the same, I felt drawn to make an illustration for it. I used a complementary colour palette because I wanted the subject matter to be in focus, not too distracted by colour.



Process
I start my creative process with a word map and thumbnails. The word map helps me come up with visual concepts even before drawing thumbnails. Then I go with the most impactful thumbnail for the final version.
